Professional Counselling Services

An Introduction

St. Mary of the Angles counseling service aims to serve:

1. Those who have problems and are struggling.

2. Those who have problems or issues but are coping alone. These are oftentimes unknown to anyone.
In fact, many of us have issues and problems and we could be spending much of our time, energies and stress coping with them. Yet on the outside, no one knows. We may have reasons not to tell anyone: fear, constraints, shame, too much to loose, unsure if others will accept, no one to turn to, etc.
Sometimes, this aloneness can make life seem more unfair, confusing or even meaningless.

You can choose not to go on alone...

Having someone who will listen to you in private confidentiality is the first step that can be helpful. Counsellors who have been trained sufficiently may provide relief or even healing.

If integrated with Christ-centered values, counselling may even bring you beyond healing - towards finding greater meaning into who you are, why God has allowed things to happen, and your unique purpose here on earth.

Spiritual component

Spirituality can add an important dimension to our lives. Similarly in counselling, the spiritual component can help not only resolve problems, but also prevent the causes of psychological, socio-relational and existential problems.

For ordinary people: Life coaching

The combination of counselling and spirituality equates to life coaching that is potentially of great benefit to even ordinary people. You may have an issue which you feel is important, but those around you seem uninterested. Sometimes, having someone you can explore the issue with, in confidentiality, can be an most important step towards greater meaning and purpose in life.

Note: Different counsellors have different strengths in different areas. It is important to know and state your objective in seeking counselling at St Mary's, so that a suitable counsellor, if available, can be allocated to you.
