Children's Liturgy

This ministry enables young children of primary school level to experience and appreciate the Word of God, celebrated in their own special liturgical worship space, separate from the main congregation.
 
The Liturgy of the Word for Children is celebrated at the 9.00am Mass every Sunday. Just before the First Reading the children are led by a Facilitator carrying the Children's Lectionary, out of the Church to their own worship space at St. Clare Hall. Here the environment is created to project the liturgical season and Gospel theme for the Sunday. The high point of the Celebration is the heart experience when the Gospel message is proclaimed.
 
Through the use of various methods (eg drama, story-telling, dialogue etc) the children are encouraged to participate actively during the Gospel sharing, thus helping them to experience God’s love and to apply the Gospel teachings to their own everyday life. The children later re-join the rest of the main congregation during the Offertory.
